Marks & Spencer to open four stores in Ukraine in 2008
British retailer Marks & Spencer will open four more of its outlets in Ukraine: two in Kyiv and one in Odesa and Donetsk.
According to Elvira Kazas, sales and marketing director for Marks&Spencer in Ukraine the new stores will have space of about 1000 sq. meters each. She did not disclose amount of investments into new stores.
In may of 2007 Marks&Spencer opened its first store in Ukraine. According to Kazas, her company was quite happy with 2007 results in Ukraine. “We reached the goals we set in our businessplan. Part of it was to open a first store in Ukraine. The very fact that we are opening four more stores speak for itself.
"2007 was a successful year,” she said in an interview to Ukrainian business website rynok.biz
Earlier the British retailer said it planned to increase its sales in Russia and Ukraine to $250 million in 2010. The retailer's businesses in Russia and Ukraine are also operated by Turkey's Fiba Holding.
