Receiving letters from the UK
« on: 00:41 19-Sep-2017 »
Hi guys, I've been reading the forum for a while and lots of great advice but I needed to ask a question which is fairly important.

I had a letter sent to my hotel about 2 weeks ago and it's a no show, so have now decided to have the document re-sent but tracked..

My question is, how does that work in Ukraine? I would rather just pick it up from the post office but the whole Ukraposta and Nova Posta have me a little confused, can I just address it to the post office anyway? or shall I address it to my hotel and I will have to pick it up anyway?

Thanks in advance

Ben

You can have it posted by DHL and then pick it up from their office near the train station in Lviv.

Thanks. That's handy should the OP be located in Lviv. That said, DHL most likely have pick-up points at most major cities.

I think nova poshta is only originated in Ukraine.

If it is something important I wouldn't have it sent to the hotel.

If it is mildly important - send it via w/e method requires ID and signing.
What you want is for Ukraine post to send a bit of paper to the hotel asking you to come round to the local post office and present your ID to recieve the letter.

DHL will cost a lot more but is fairly secure method.

Have it sent to Embassy is also an option but I have no experience with that.
