Gee you are nice today. We are here to harass people right??  :D :D :D

Depends upon whether or not, in my case, I had some good Canadian smoked streaky bacon instead of salo for the morning breakfast!  :D :D ;)

Oh, and today was bacon day.  8)

The outfit in Kyiv is Gotovo, don't know if they also have the contracts in the other cities.

Odessa is another

Here's one thread about it -First hit on giggle search, btw (sniff).

And a couple hits down the row I found this.  All the cities are listed here.

One of the stated required docs "a document on the recognition of marriage as invalid, if such a thing happened."  aka Affidavit of non-impediment...  No longer required and no Consulate will issue one now.

I googled, I found info.  How'd I do Didyc?   :D

If you didn't come here to be insulted where do you usually go?

Hi All I've been in a relationship with a Ukrainian woman for nearly 3 years now and the time has come to get married and start a life together somewhere.

I would pick either your country or her country to live in, the good thing about the UK is that it isn't far from Ukraine.

The problem We have is where to get married we had originally wanted to do it in the uk but the visa process really seams hard work, costly and not guaranteed. We have had 2 refusals in the past for general visitor visas so our trust in the uk system is non existent so I guess my questions are:

1 is it easier to get married in Ukraine

Yes it is, but ensure you have engaged a solicitor first in the UK who specialises in immigration law. You don't have to, but it is best to get this all lined up first before making major decisions.

2 is it legally recognised in the uk and Europe

Yes it is, another alternative is that you could have a wedding in Ukraine which gives you more bang for your buck with your wife's family and have a traditional one, then have a more simple one in the registry office in the UK (but she will need a spouse visa for this) so you have it done at both ends. I would use the UK one as your marriage certificate for immigration purposes later on.

3 will it help with obtaining a visa for her to move to the uk or are we best to try our luck in the lottery of the U.K. Visa system and get married here

Yes, you have to prove that your marriage is real and that she doesn't need to rely on UK benefits to get by. A solicitor will give you good advice on this but I must stress to get one familiar with immigration law. It would be a partner visa initially, then after 3-5 years your wife can apply for a British Passport.

Forgive me if I skimmed over a topic you mentioned in your OP.

You mention a 13-year old daughter and the possibility of moving to UK. Has there been any discussion with the child's father about relinquishing his 50% custodial rights? This would also be a good topic to discuss with any immigration lawyer you retain. Just a thought.

The local news here show's that we've got the one day quicky marriage in this town too.
So it's spreading..
In Russia we only had two TV channels. Channel One was propaganda. Channel Two consisted of a KGB officer telling you: Turn back at once to Channel One. Yakov Smirnoff

A very valid and important point. I did some legal research about this a couple of years back when I had a girfriend from Moscow with an 11 year old daughter. Immigration in any western european country generally isn't the problem. It was the problem leaving Russia because the mother always had to present a written  and notarized consent of the father that the child is allowed to leave the country with the mother. Without this paper the child would not be allowed to leave Russia. How this is seen in Ukraine though I don't know.

It's the same here. Gotta have the bio-father's written consent. Even to go to, let's say, Turkey for a 14 day vacation.

Hence in case the bio father wants to play foul and not give her that paper she is stuck ..... This was the case with my russian girlfriend who wanted to move to western europe but the father denied giving the written consent. apparently the is the possibility of a lengthy legal process only in case the bio father is an imprisoned criminal, a drug addict or some kind of mentally ill person but in most other cases it is near to impossible to strip the father of his rights.
