From our point of view, the more international connections from/to Zhuliany, the better.
This airport is within walking distance (45 minutes) from our home; or TB 9, and one shift - it's just 10 minutes from home.
Unfortunately, Wizz connects to nowhere we want to go  ;)

My friend Departed today from Zhuliany to Luton today, the cafe was Not open and Duty free had just closed for a meal break, once he had gone through Security/customs he was looking for a Toilet!,
Ha Ha, now you have to Backtrack through Security/customs to find/use them. :o  ???

It seems a few people here have forgotten what Wizz air is.... its a BUDGET, no-frills airline!

It will fly you from London to Kiev (or vice versa) for 50 Euros. It does this and nothing else.

If you want toilets, duty free shops, cafes and a well staffed border point - then you can have them, you just have to pay, and BA, UIA etc will be happy to take your money.

If you want a budget ticket and a simple service then fly Wizz Air, and remember to use the toilet before you leave ;-)

Now, I know that this discussion was triggered by a move from Boryspol to KZ Airport, but comparing the two seems pretty pointless. If anything, you've been spoilt with the prior services. If you live on the right-bank in Kiev and want more time at home/work and less time travelling then the move to Zhuilany is surely a good thing.

Oh, and in case you need a bus when you arrive in the UK, National Express also offer big savings (often 50% or more) if you book online and print your own ticket.
Peace, n. In international affairs, a period of cheating between two periods of fighting.

Some interesting points; but still not quite logical.

It is the airport authority that provides toilets at the airport, not the airlines.
You can get the same low Wizz air prices at airports that do have toilets.  i.e. they were once at KBP.
So it is not the airline to blame for lack of facilities.

Point taken, but we have to assume this was an economic decision. I doubt Wizz were forced to leave KBP. Rather they found a cheaper option. I guess I was trying to say "you get what you pay for" or, put another way - if you pay peanuts - you can't pee...

Kyiv International Airport (Zhuliany) has assessed the cost of the construction of a new passenger terminal at UAH 300 million.

"I think that with the start of spring, when the flights start, the financial situation will be favorable. The city allocated UAH 10.7 million as a subsidy in 2010.
We will receive financial support his year - UAH 13.2 million is foreseen in the city budget," he said.

Kostrzhevsky added that Master-Avia Company, which had won a tender to lease airport's buildings, is ready to invest UAH 280 million in the construction of the terminal.

Agreed that Wizzair is not that great I grin and bear it rather than having to pay much more to use BA and have to get to Heathrow for a 6am check in, although I was told recently they now operate 2 daily flights at 7.00 and 9.50 so I suppose the later flight is a slight improvement.

Despite the above I am hearing that Zhulyaniy is nothing more than a joke with one x ray machine, clearly an airport not geared up for international travel I would add!!!

Immediately after Security is Passport Control, and immediately after Passport Control there is a toilet.  It is so close, that if you are preoccupied with trying to find the stamp in your passport, you will miss the toilet.  But it is there.

Are you talking about entering or  leaving?

If entering; what  is this about Security.  Usually passport control is first stop when entering.

How to get to airport Zhulyany from Main Railway Station

Use minibus no. 169, departing from South-Exit of main railway station. So, when leaving the railway station, you see McDonalds, you are wrong :-)
Leaving South-Exit, go right, along the street, about 100m, passing by the busses to Borispol.
Then there is a bus stop for different routes, not only 169.
I had to wait about 10 min., travel time about 15 min.
Best is to ask for the right bus stop, where to get out, because airport is on left of street, a bit in the background, not so easy to see from within bus.
Price is 2.5UHA

Now, after arrival in Zhulyany, I used the bus no. 9, departing just in front of the airport terminal. Opposed to info from the web, it is NOT a trolleybus, but one of the small yellow busses. Went to  Main Railway Station, South Exit- This time 5UHA, because of lagguage.
I have the impression, this bus is scheduled according to the flight arrivals, but that is only my suspicion.

Was reading WIZZAIR's website and I LOVE THEM. They have a free (if I read it right) 32kg checked baggage limit AND a 10kg carry on- unique in any low cost airlines that I know. Nobody lets you take 32kg, and I have enormous problems making 23 or 20, forget 15- Ryan Air and their 1000 fees can go F themselves- did it once to Valencia and spent 2 1/2 hours in airport weighing and juggling things between checked and carry-on. Someday a plane will crash cause their lunatic regs force people to take 25kg carryons and the planes are top heavy. They make big bucks from carrying air-freight + mail, screw the passangers

Another wonderful thing about Wizzair: 169hrv flight Kiev to Stockholm on July 4 - $22. Gospody

The checked baggage is not free, but it is only around $15 for 32 kilos, which as you say is better than any other low or mid cost airline.  They are also not that strict about the 10 KG carry on, within reason - or at least they have been with me.

Went through Zhulaniy last week, utter chaos, bags reclaim was a tent, my case was damaged, only 2 immigration officers for the whole plane, took a long while, but I suppose with its proximity to the centre was still more time efficient than having to take that long trek from Boryspol, the overall sense was a place which was a provincial airport trying to adapt to international conditions, very few ameneties but as has been said all along Wizzair is by and large way cheaper than BA or MAU so you get what you pay for!

A quite unique experience was reclaiming your bags before immigration and passport control!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had to laugh at the taxi mafia, 200uah to the centre was the asking price!!! New airport same old prices  ;D

2 more points about Zhuliany

- you can get there (almost) by elekrichka from Voksalna
- there's that fantastic open-air plane museum nearby (Tu104, il18, il62 etc) just next to the airport boundary
